TSTC awarded Financial Audit Notice of Findings and Recommendations Remediation Support to the USCG
Fairfax, VA. (June 2, 2008) - Total Systems Technologies Corporation (TSTC) announced today that it was awarded a performance-based task order is to assist the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Office of Information Assurance (IA) (CG-62) by providing Information Assurance and Information Technology (IT) Notice of Findings and Recommendation (NFR) Auditing deliverables. These deliverables will include draft and recommendations in response to security NFR's along with analysis of root cause and alternatives to allow the USCG to implement actions to remediate these weaknesses and enhance the USCG IT security policies, standards, and procedures.
In this task order, TSTC will assist the USCG in meeting FISMA requirements as it relates to NFR's. Using our USCG and DHS-proven approach, we will assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), and identified Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) and/or Centers of Excellence with remediating identified security control weaknesses associated with financial and mixed financial systems IT processes to include assistance in drafting policies, procedures, practices, and/or performance measures. The TSTC staff will evaluate the design of the key IT security controls and underlying root causes for USCG financial and mixed financial systems and corresponding Centers of Excellence as described in DHS MD 4300A v 6.0, Appendix R. We will assist with the enhancement of existing USCG's IT security policies, standards, and procedures relating to these systems and in the context of the NFRs.
