TSTC awarded FISMA Evaluation Contract
Fairfax, VA. (November 11, 2007) - Total Systems Technologies Corporation (TSTC) announced today that it was awarded a competitively bid contract from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to evaluate the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) security program and practices as mandated by FISMA and related OMB guidance.
Using the TSTC FISMA Evaluation Framework Methodology (FEFM) - the foundation of the TSTC controls based assessment - TSTC will perform the annual FISMA evaluations to ensure that the CSB IT assets are not only adequately protected but that processes are in place to ensure a robust security program that is measurable, maintainable, and reportable. The TSTC approach to the annual FISMA evaluations will be conducted from a security program maturity perspective and makes use of many of the GAOs recommended procedures in the FISCAM to address the continuous monitoring and management aspects of an IT security program. Analysis of prior assessments combined with observable trends will allow TSTC to provide comprehensive near-term and long-term recommendations to CSB.
